SYA Lacrosse Fall Season

Fall Season

SYA hosts clinic in the fall on Sunday afternoons normally starting the weekend after Labor day in September through the end of October, with makeup dates due to weather cancelations in November. It is designed for boys and girls new to lacrosse (novice or first year players) as well as those anxious to pick up their sticks and work on their skills for the upcoming Spring season.  We will be coming together to have a fun and safe place to get the kids on the field and get our community together. All players are grouped by age for boys (8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U) and by grade for girls (K-2nd, 3rd/4th, 5th/6th and 7th/8th).  We will do our best to make the days fun filled for all age groups and skill levels.

The fall program may possibly include scrimmaging if other teams are available as well.

Is anything else required?

Boys need a lacrosse stick that meets National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Rules standards. We recommend sticks similar to the STX Boys' Stallion 50 Lacrosse Stick. Boys also need to wear protective cups. Boys will require helmet, shoulder pads, and arm guards, which are available for rent at the time of registration.

Girls need a lacrosse stick that meets National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Rules standards. We recommend sticks similar to the Under Armour Girls' Futures Mesh Complete Lacrosse Stick. However, we do have a limited number of girls sticks available for rent at the time of registration. Girls are also required to wear lacrosse/field hockey goggles that meets National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Rules standards (such as the STX Girls' 2See Lacrosse/Field Hockey Goggles), which are also available to rent at the time of registration.

All players must have a mouthguard (available at Dick's Sporting Goods or other sports retailers). Rubber soled cleats are recommended, but not necessary.
